Purpose of the role

Our core development and construction project team on site at Worship Square consists currently of 6 colleagues, with an extended team looking after design, legal, marketing etc. in the background. The new development will span over nine storeys with an expected GLA of 13,000 sqm.

The Project Logistics Manager will provide logistics management leadership to our Worship Square construction project. By applying industry recognised tools and methodologies within our own project control regime, the Logistics Manager will ensure the logistical needs of their given project are catered for. The role directly reports into the Project Director.


Responsibilities

• Actively supports the Project Management in the delivery of their given project
• Will develop and implement the self-delivery logistics strategy for the Worship Square Project
• Utilizes duly approved standards, processes, manuals, templates and other documents during Project Journey as appropriate
• Takes part in decisions on all key problems and project milestones whereby there is a logistical input
• Makes sure logistics are linked in with design and professional teams to help deliver on key drivers
• Supports the Leasing Mangers and Property Managers to achieve project key goals
• Inputs into the procurement of all the mini packages involved in the site logistics
• Manages the trades in terms of all aspects of logistics – Delivery, transport and storage.]
• Manages the site logistics including safe walkways, signage and storage
• General management of the logistics team through the logistics supervisor incl. daily/weekly works schedules
• General management of the welfare and office facilities
• Production of any safety paperwork/RAMs
• Management of the project vertical transport i.e. cranes and hoists
• Inputs into the project risk register and manages/mitigate risks relating to site logistics
• Makes sure any logistics documents and schedules are up to date including and reporting required
• Aids the logistics commercial manager in maintaining a cost plan and fee drawdown of all logistics costs
• Works with the project planner to give logistical input into the programme and take a key role in any collaborative planning sessions with the various trades
• Takes part in the site reviews on the construction
• Inputs into the site handover plan to ensure logistically the project is ready for handover
• Any other duties as required


Requirements

Experience

  • Solid construction experience and proven track record in managing logistics on London sites
    • Proven track record of leading a team of operatives
    • Proven record of management of crane and hoists
    • Ideally familiar with CM and MC construction contract
    • Experience with delivery management software, desirable

Education

  • Crane AP qualification is desired

  • Self-starting with a 'can do' attitude to problem solving

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite, particularly Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
