Reaching Net Zero: what can the construction industry learn from nutritional food labels?

This week our UK Product Design Lead, Jos Borthwick, was featured in Building’s Net Zero Live series talking about the changes required for us to achieve Net Zero in construction. He spoke of the need for clear, consistent data to illustrate the impact of building decisions on carbon emissions, just like how traffic light labels on food packaging inform us about nutritional value.

Jos also pointed out the benefits of HB Reavis’ integrated developer and contractor model, which allows us to oversee the lifecycle of new workspaces from design right through to occupancy. By working with consultants and specialist trades from the earliest stages of our projects, we are able to analyse every element, making effective decisions which minimise carbon emissions.
