Forest office campus supports health and wellbeing
This office building developed by HB Reavis received the prestigious WELL Core & Shell certificate. The Gold rating confirms the implementation of the highest ESG standards in Forest and the positive impact of its buildings on the wellbeing and safety of users. Independent auditors valued the ubiquitous lush greenery and measurable features ensuring the quality of working conditions.
WELL is a science-based certification standard developed by the International WELL Building Institute. It takes into account over 100 building parameters that affect people’s health and physical and mental wellbeing, including those related to access to fresh air, water quality, lighting, acoustics, thermal comfort and sanitary safety. The assessment is carried out by independent auditors who verify the design, documentation and actual operations of the building.
– The WELL certificate for the Forest office campus is the result of our long-term strategy of creating places that focus on people, their health and safety. Such a good result was possible, among other reasons, thanks to a record scale of biophilic solutions that put employees in a good mood and make them like staying there. We are proud that out of all the buildings in Warsaw with such a certificate, as many as half belong to HB Reavis.
Cezary Błaszczyk, Commercial Director at HB Reavis Investments.
The ventilation system in Forest provides offices with much more fresh air than standards require. The filters stop pollutants and harmful PM10 and PM2.5 dust, as well as allergy-causing pollen and fungal spores. To reduce allergens, no pesticides or herbicides are used when caring for green areas. Research shows that buildings designed in this way promote faster regeneration, facilitate concentration, reduce stress and stimulate creativity.
Forest is an office campus surrounded by greenery. In addition to 78,000 sq m of office space, it serves a number of public functions. The spacious ground floors house a kindergarten, a bakery-cafe, a furniture showroom, a grocery store and a tourist equipment store. In line with the recommendations of WELL certification, art exhibitions are held in the hall, including the International Sculpture Biennial. HB Reavis planted over 200 trees and as many shrubs around the building. Lush vegetation can be found in the open courtyard and rooftop garden, which are accessible to everyone and are very popular among Warsaw residents.
In addition to WELL, the Forest office campus has BREEAM sustainability certification, the WELL Health-Safety Rating and Building without Barriers, confirming its inclusivity. The project was also honoured with the Warsaw Mayor’s Architectural Award, the Accessibility Leader title, a municipal award for the most beautiful gardens, a Real Estate Impactor prize and an award from the Polish Green Building Council.
HB Reavis was supported by WSP Polska advisors in the WELL certification process.
