Meeting challenges head-on: We speak to Bisnow about wellbeing in the office
If you are as avid a reader of Bisnow’s morning emails as we are, you might have recently seen this great piece on the changing landscape of offices and the launch of Bloom Clerkenwell, HB Reavis’ innovative new office building next door to Farringdon Station
Over the last few months, many of us have re-evaluated our relationship with the office, considered what we need it for and how we use it. At HB Reavis we set out to create remarkable workspaces and continue to ensure our workspaces support the occupier’s wellbeing and productivity – and importantly, do so in a sustainable way.
At Bloom Clerkenwell, which is due to complete in spring 2021, we are aiming for Platinum-level WELL Certification, Outstanding BREEAM accreditation and already achieved WiredScore Platinum. Bloom will launch with campus-like health and wellbeing facilities including a dedicated cycle entrance off the Cycle Superhighway and a 1,200 sq ft training studio. “Every aspect of Bloom’s design has been tailored to enhance a company and their employee’s health, happiness and productivity,” Charlie told Bisnow.
Technology also helps us improve wellbeing by empowering occupiers through data, and enables them to control their environment. We know the correct level of indoor humidity is key to lower infective aerosolised viruses, and air quality improves overall productivity. To help occupiers control their physical workspace and the office environment, we have developed a new tech-led ‘ready to work’ concept at Bloom Clerkenwell. We work with clients to design and fit out the office space that’s customised for their company, including creating a flexible workspace offering with considered anti-microbial material choices to respond to evolving needs and challenges.
’Ready to work’ has been designed to create flexibility for clients’ evolving business strategies,” Russell-Jones told Bisnow. “We will work with the client to create a workspace design and fit-out that is tailored to a client’s needs. Further to that, the ‘ready to work’ offering will digitise the office user experience, enabling employees to see the live performance of their space and adjust the indoor environment and configure their preferences.”
