Apollo Nivy Awarded Two New WELL Certifications, Confirming its Premium Wellbeing Standards
There’s a lot to Apollo Nivy, our office project in Bratislava, Slovakia, which makes it truly unique, and it’s not just the wellbeing features that make it a standout workspace. Apollo Nivy boasts the largest single floor area in CEE — and every single square metre out of the 8,000 per floor is designed with wellbeing in mind. This commitment has just helped us achieve two prestigious certifications for the office building granted by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI): WELL Core Certification at the Platinum level, which is the highest possible, and WELL Health-Safety Rating.

Demanding criteria backed with science
IWBI awards these certifications to buildings that support their users’ wellbeing. Their assessment is based on rigorous performance criteria, backed with scientific research, and validated by third-party assessors – how the environment influences how people feel in a space and how healthy it is for them to stay in it can be measured exactly.
- WELL Core Certification focuses on 10 categories of buildings performance: Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind, and Community. The assessors look at ventilation systems, how the lighting supports circadian rhythms, or if there are enough relaxation zones allowing people to relax and unwind.
- WELL Health-Safety Rating includes 17 evidence-based strategies designed to support health and wellbeing during emergency events, including public health crises as well as day-to-day operations. Unlike WELL Standard Certification, it’s more about policies, protocols, and maintenance routines in place, than actual features of the building.
Distinctive features, the highest wellbeing ratings
The fact that Apollo Nivy has been awarded with the Platinum level of WELL certification demonstrates that we always go the extra mile when it comes to designing spaces in which people genuinely feel well. We call this approach people-centric design, and in the case of Apollo Nivy, it’s translated into the final building by several unique features which helped us get the certification:
- Excellent air and water quality, monitored and maintained to exceed baseline standards
- Balanced natural and artificial lighting, supporting everyone’s comfort and circadian rhythm
- Biophilic design and curated art, enhancing visual appeal and mental wellbeing
- Mental health support for staff, creating a more resilient and supportive workplace
- Universal design principles, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all users
- Active design strategies, encouraging movement and better ergonomics throughout the building
- Seamless access to public transport, reducing reliance on cars and promoting sustainable commuting
“Achieving both WELL Core and WELL Health-Safety certifications at Apollo Nivy is a reflection of our long-term vision – to deliver spaces that are not only sustainable but fundamentally designed around the needs of people. Health, safety, and wellbeing have become non-negotiables, and we are proud to be leading the way in our field.” (Matus Liptak, Chief Operating Officer)
Step by step to a healthier future
Having achieved these certifications is your guarantee that your wellbeing will be taken care of when spending time in Apollo Nivy. It’s not coincidence, it’s the scientific approach to wellbeing we’ve been taking for more than a decade.
For us, these certifications are more than just something to frame and put up on the wall – it represents our strategic vision for healthier, future-proof real estate. As property managers, we aim to strengthen the trust of our clients and stakeholders and make everyone working in our premises aware that their health, safety, and productivity are being prioritised every day.
These efforts go hand in hand with our broader sustainability strategy. We believe that by delivering buildings that are resilient, human-centric, and value-driven, we are responding not only to today’s challenges but also to the needs of tomorrow.
