Purpose of the role

The Design Manager will own and drive the design management process, manages designers, drives program and deliverables to achieve commercial and technical targets of the project. You will coordinate design with internal and external stakeholders to achieve efficiency and quality, timely and on budget delivery and ensuring fulfilment of commercial strategy on the project.


Responsibilities

Responsible for design management in concept and execution stages of the project, linking the design development of the project to the commercial strategy of the product.

Supports the Development manager in the general project management, project leadership and setting of project processes.

Responsible for design to be delivered according to program and budget targets

Lead selection of the external concept design team and the local delivery team

Responsible for agreeing scope of work, program with designers

Responsible for reviewing documentation and design coordination

Lead preparation of the Design Brief and other documents related to the concept

Responsible for implementing company best practices and standards in the project

Lead the preparation of design-related materials for the internal processes associated with the project

Responsible for internal stakeholder management: project coordination and implementation

Support the leasing team in discussions with tenants

Contribute to risk identification and stakeholder management in related areas

In execution design, responsible for managing changes that impact the project's value.


Requirements

Experience

  • Project Management experience
  • Experience working on design of large scale commercial developments, on the designers side and/or on the client side
  • BIM and Cad software knowledge and relevant experience
  • Design management skills and tools knowledge: project planning, coordination and commenting tools, e.g. MS Project, Aconex, etc
  • Understanding of design and local design regulations
  • Overview and understanding of technical design requirements

Education

  • Technical degree in building design
