HB Reavis rounds off year of success in Warsaw with ambitious plans for the future
HB Reavis was one of the most active players on the Warsaw office market in 2016. The company leased nearly 42,500 sqm of space to 40 companies at Gdanski Business Center, West Station and Postepu 14. An additional 20,000 sqm is under negotiation and HB Reavis is expecting to close many of those deals in the near future. At the end of 2016, HB Reavis also launched the construction of its flagship development Varso in Warsaw city centre. Consisting of three buildings the scheme will provide up to 140,000 sqm of top quality leasable space.
“The year 2016 proved that our design-led, city-integrated buildings with green surroundings and wide range of amenities are highly esteemed by our clients, who actually care about creating better workspaces for their people. By leasing the most office space in the capital city last year, HB Reavis demonstrates that health and well-being are becoming ever more important to employers. We are proud to be an essential part of growing quality and competitiveness in the Polish workplace market,” said Grzegorz Strutyński, Commercial Director and Board Member, HB Reavis Poland.
Last year saw 22 new companies moving into Gdanski Business Center, including Nielsen (over 4,600 sqm), GE (over 2,750 sqm), Groupe SEB (approx. 1,030 sqm), Tax Care (over 820 sqm) and BPH (approx. 730 sqm). In four buildings of the complex located next to the Dworzec Gdanski metro station, HB Reavis leased a total of approximately 25,100 sqm of office and retail space, making Gdanski Business Center a continuously vibrant place to work and socialise.
HB Reavis’ West Station, which is integrated within the Warszawa Zachodnia railway station, was another popular location for businesses in 2016. HB Reavis successfully leased approximately 12,300 sqm of office space. The first stage of the project was completed last Autumn, and its excellent transport links attracted companies including: Coface (over 2,250 sqm), Office Hub (approx. 1,125 sqm) and Panalpina (630 sqm). West Station II is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2017.
“2016 has been a truly successful year, which we ended on a really positive note by obtaining the permit and launching the construction of our 140,000 sqm flagship development Varso, located in the very heart of Warsaw’s Central Business District. It is a dream location for a whole array of companies looking for a unique seat, in the best connected part of the city,” adds Grzegorz Strutyński.
The most distinctive feature of the three Varso buildings is the tower designed by the well-established architectural studio Foster + Partners. From its rooftop, local residents and tourists alike will be able to enjoy a unique skyline of the capital city at 230 m above ground. Office workers will also enjoy small shops, services, restaurants and cafés situated in the vibrant arcades on the ground floors of the two lower buildings. Varso is scheduled for completion in 2020.
