HB Reavis secures first tenant at Postępu 14
HB Reavis, the international developer group operating in the Central and Eastern European markets, and in the United Kingdom and Turkey, has signed the first lease for office space at its newest office complex at Postępu 14, in Warsaw’s Mokotów district. The first tenant, AstraZeneca, will move into the building in December 2015. One of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies has taken almost 7,000 sq m.
AstraZeneca has been present on the Polish market for over twenty years. The company belongs to the world leaders in the pharmaceutical industry and supplies drugs in the main branches of medicine: oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, diabetology, psychiatry, anaesthesiology and antibiotherapy. The medicines produced by AstraZeneca are available in more than 100 countries. The company employs over 58,000 people around the globe, including more than 500 people in Poland.
AstraZeneca has taken 6,900 sq m on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors in the eastern wing of the building. Relocating from its current headquarters in Mokotow’s business district, AstraZeneca will also have exclusive use of a 400 sq m terrace on the fifth floor at Postepu 14.
–We were committed to staying in this part of the city to avoid disruption for employees. Mokotów’s business district enjoys good communication with other parts of Warsaw as well as easy access to the fast urban train (SKM), the southern Warsaw ring road and the airport. What is important for our employees are also the numerous cafés and restaurants as well as the nearby Galeria Mokotów shopping centre. We chose Postępu 14 above all due to its modern and flexible layout, which will enable us to create a more inspiring and friendly working space.– says Beata Paluchowska, HR Director at AstraZeneca Pharma Poland.
The international consulting company JLL supported AstraZeneca in the complex process of finding an appropriate location, negotiating the lease contract as well as developing the architectural concept and carrying out the fit-out works.
Jakub Sylwestrowicz, Head of Tenant Representation at JLL, comments: – We chose Postępu 14 after an in-depth market analysis, mostly due to its space efficiency and very good location, which offers optimum conditions for the exposition of the tenants’ logotypes. Other considerable advantages are the availability of parking spaces, the proximity of public transport and the building’s technical specification.
The Postępu 14 complex provides 34,500 sq m of modern office space. The building of seven to nine overground storeys is located at the intersection of Marynarska and Postępu streets, in the direct vicinity of numerous bus and tram stops, as well as the nearby fast urban train (SKM) station. Postępu 14 is one of only few office buildings in the Mokotów area that have been rated as ‘Excellent’ in BREEAM environmental pre-assessment. For the comfort of future tenants, the complex has been equipped with a number of additional amenities, most notably a licence plate recognition system at the entrance into the parking lot, high-speed lifts, bicycle stands, showers and an electric car charging station.
–We are very pleased to sign our first lease with a market-leading company such
as AstraZeneca. We are particularly happy since the company has been present in Mokotów for years and must have considered numerous buildings which were constructed here in the recent years. The decision to relocate to Postepu 14 is recognition and endorsement of the high quality of our development. This relocation further proves that Mokotów remains a particularly attractive place for large international companies, both newly arrived and those who have been present in Mokotów for a longer period – says Grzegorz Strutyński, Commercial Director and Member of the Management Board of HB Reavis Poland.
The construction of the office complex at Postępu 14 commenced in November 2013. The building is a part of HB Reavis diverse portfolio of innovative projects across multiple Warsaw neighbourhoods, totalling now 131 800 sq m of completed space and 120 000 sq m under construction.
