Diversifying talent in real estate: HB Reavis joins forces with youth recruitment start-up briqs
Last year we sponsored the London Property Alliance’s research report: Building Skills for the Future of Real Estate produced by Future Places Studio (June 2020). One of the key findings was that “89% of survey respondents believe[d] that the sector would benefit from recruiting a greater number of people from outside the real estate industry.“
At HB Reavis we recognise the value of cognitive and socio-economic diversity within the real estate workforce. We are always looking for ambitious new talent to join our projects across London, bringing fresh ideas and a desire to learn. A year on from the report, and within the context of a pandemic that has left many young people behind in the job market, we are delighted to be supporting the launch of briqs, a recruitment start-up specialising in the placement of young people in the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.
Working with briqs will allow us to unlock candidates’ unique skills and potential, instead of purely recruiting based on academic background. briqs will support us to hire for a new position at Bloom Clerkenwell, where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in the heart of one of London’s most exciting and innovative workplaces. They will join us for six months and will also receive £1,500 to spend on a training and development programme of their choice.
Commenting on the partnership with briqs, our UK CEO Steven Skinner said: “I believe that the built environment sector must find a way to attract new talent, creating a greater diversity of people, backgrounds, experiences and ideas. HB Reavis UK is looking forward to working with briqs to do exactly that.”
