Mentoring to help young professionals get ahead
In May, our UK CEO Steven Skinner took part in the Real Estate Balance & Property Week speed mentoring event!
Taking place via Zoom, Steven was delighted to offer his experience at the event designed to help address the diversity imbalance in the industry. Budding real estate professionals had the opportunity to meet senior industry leaders and talk to them about their career, gaining valuable skills, knowledge and insights for their own career aspirations and development.
The webinar featured short presentations and feedback from some of the mentors and the mentees about their experiences. Talking about his own mentoring process, Steven talked about how he didn’t have a mentor when beginning his career, “taking part in events like this always makes me realise the significance of having one.”
It was inspiring to hear from so many senior industry figures during the event, Leonore Schick summed it up best when she wrote in Property Week “the insight was not just useful for the mentees. As with any great relationship, mentoring is reciprocal.”
