Wise names Worship Square as its new home for London-based team, taking 7,700 sq m.
The new c.7,700 sq m letting takes the available office space to 98% let pre-practical completion in summer 2024.
Global technology company, Wise, has chosen Worship Square as its new London office – taking just over 7,700 sq m of space across several floors. Employees will get to enjoy all of the Worship Square benefits including a fully equipped in-house studio, communal rooftop terrace and state-of-the-art concierge app – whilst also retaining the typical Wise office features such as an event space, games area and open, collaborative working areas.
Founded 13 years ago, Wise has always been a committed member of London’s tech scene and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Today, the company has more than 5,500 employees globally – including over 1,000 in London. Over the last year, ten million people and businesses actively used Wise, and the company moves more than £30 billion in cross-border transactions each quarter.
We acquired the Worship Square site in Q1 2020 and evolved the design of the scheme amidst the backdrop of the pandemic which saw a paradigm shift toward more sustainable developments. We pushed ourselves to re-imagine what the future workspaces should look like and offer occupiers, keeping our core pillars in mind: putting people first, powering greater productivity and protecting the planet.
Sustainability and wellbeing have been embedded within the foundations of Worship Square. The building is targeting a fully net zero carbon status, BREEAM Outstanding, EPC Rating A, WELL Platinum, SmartScore Platinum, WiredScore Platinum and has a certified ‘Design Reviewed Target Rating’ of 5* NABERS with potential to enhance to a 5.5* rating.
The space has been designed with Wise’s collaborative working environment in mind, with a range of open-plan, flexible co-working spaces to allow teams to come together and solve customer problems.
As a nod to the company’s Estonian heritage, Wise also has plans for an in-office sauna, a feature seen in some other Wise offices, as well as being a dog-friendly office space and has a private outdoor terrace to promote employee physical and mental wellbeing.
“At Wise, everything we do is centered around creating a world in which money moves quickly, easily, fairly, and in a way that’s open to all. To achieve this, we empower our teams to make their own decisions, set their own goals and pursue the work that is most impactful. We need a workplace that supports this. A space that fosters collaboration, while allowing employees to focus – and ultimately build products that meet the needs of our customers. Worship Square meets this brief.
We are proud to be a part of London. We’re a truly global team, serving a global customer and the technology that enables that was first built here. Thirteen years since we set down roots here, we’re excited by what’s to come.”
Isabel Naidoo, Chief People Officer at Wise
Pending practical completion of Worship Square in summer 2024, Wise is expected to complete its fit-out and move in by early 2025, transitioning its 1,000+ UK staff from its current office in the Tea Building in Shoreditch. Wise joins Frontier Economics, which arrived last year and occupies over 3,000 sq m as its London HQ.
