Welcome to Worship Square – a true Net Zero Carbon scheme in London!
We’re over the moon with the design for our first fully net zero carbon scheme. Worship Square will set a new benchmark for net zero carbon construction and operation.
Worship Square’s ambitious design will provide c.13,000 sq m of workspace and over 800 sq m of terracing, yet is also set to have 50% less embodied carbon compared to current industry benchmarks – equivalent to the average carbon footprint of 3,000 homes.
What’s more; when it’s operational, air source heat pumps will reduce the building’s operational energy through efficient heating, cooling, and smart modelling. Photovoltaic cells on the roof will also provide renewable energy.
Meeting stringent certifications
Worship Square is designed to achieve 5* NABERS and BREEAM Outstanding certification. It’s also aiming for a WELL Platinum rating, the highest certification for wellbeing – with a multi-functional fitness studio offering tailored classes, high-end changing facilities, 324 cycle spaces for active commuters, and free bookable Brompton bikes and e-scooters to enable active lifestyles.
To enhance the everyday experience, all employees working within the building will have access to the MORE app, and will be able to enjoy the team’s personalised concierge service, environmental insights dashboard, and other services.
Green ideas
With over 3,200 plants from over 49 different species, Worship Square’s biophilic design begins on arrival with a ‘green heart’ living lobby. It provides purer air too, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor spaces.
As well as increasing biodiversity and attracting pollinators, the large communal roof terrace will include urban allotments hosting lessons on how to grow produce, and a wormery to transform employees’ organic waste into compost for the terraces.
Innovative spaces
Smart tech forms the backbone of the building. It’s already received WiredScore Platinum and is one of only three schemes globally to achieve SmartScore Platinum.
Real-time monitoring and reporting of energy use and water consumption will support tenants’ drive to improve energy efficiency. Our smart technology platform, Symbiosy, will also provide analytics on everything from indoor air quality and temperature to room capacity – together with the ability to adjust settings and transparently show building usage.
Inspired by local architecture, Worship Square’s eye-catching looks and stunning blue façade, designed by MAKE Architects, will give the building a distinct identity. Construction’s already underway, and we expect to complete it in early 2024.
